About this list
Most Warsaw clubs live through their tournaments. UKSz Hetman fills the FIDE list with weekly rapid evenings and regular blitz nights, KSz Polonia Warszawa on ul. Konwiktorska stands behind the Independence Tournament and the Warsaw Chess Festival, UKS Caissa holds its open championships on ul. Domaniewska in Mokotów, and UKS Twierdza Mokotów runs category tournaments from ul. Powsińska. YMCA Warsaw Center keeps its numbered seasons on ul. Konopnickiej, and KSz SzachMatek runs a grand prix of club tournaments.
School sports clubs make up much of the rest: UKS Sparta Białołęka teaches by category in two primary schools, UKS Gambit Wesoła, Żagle and Ogród Jordanowski field players in the Warsaw Youth Olympiad, and Czternastka in Ursus plays league matches. Klub Szachowy Królowa M. meets for free in Żoliborz, and the company teams of the Business Chess League SGH are listed as clubs too. Around the city there are Król Batory in Otwock, Szachowa Dwójka in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Zieloni in Zielonka, Sternik in Pruszków, Laura in Chylice and Łady in Raszyn.
